E.D. Walker Zoning Case

On January 9, City Council will hear an Agenda item about E.D. Walker Middle School zoning, which has been approved by the City Plan Commission. As this school is near your home or business, I’m providing information to the Melshire community in advance of that Council meeting. Please be advised that zoning matters for this Council meeting will be heard starting at 6 pm. City Council meetings are held at City Hall, 1500 Marilla St., Dallas, TX, 75201.

You may view the submitted Traffic Management Plan (TMP), schematics and drawings, and other relevant information about this zoning request on our website:
https://dallascityhall.com/government/citycouncil/district13/Pages/default.aspx

The TMP was amended to address traffic flow concerns and better manage vehicular traffic at the School. Please note cars will be able to queue-up onsite during pick-up and drop-off, which means minimal traffic congestion and impact to the neighborhood. Graphic summaries and maps are shown in the TMP which help illustrate the recommended changes and practices. Ultimately, all queuing, parking, and loading/unloading should be accommodated within school property boundaries. Additionally, the TMP will greatly improve the intersection traffic operations at Nuestra and Wozencraft Drives.

FYI, the below description is how the item is listed on the Jan. 9 Agenda, and the link will show the entire Agenda for that day. Scroll to item #38 to see more detailed information prepared and recommended by staff:
