Melshire Estates Women's Club

History of Melshire Women

Melshire Women’s Club (MWC) was founded in 1959 when three neighborhood women met for coffee. The club quickly grew, and a second club was formed.

In 1997, the two clubs merged and continue on in the spirit of the founders. MWC initiated efforts to install street lights and curbs in the neighborhood, plant trees in the Forest Road median, organize the neighborhood patrol, and various other projects related to the good of the community.

When We Meet

Meetings are held in the members’ homes from September through May on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Typically, meetings are at 10am (except for an evening meeting at 7pm in April) and luncheons are at 11am.

What We Do

We currently provide goodies and run the “treat walk” at the annual HOA Halloween party. This past year we donated gently used purses, jewelry and other accessories to Attitudes and Attires for our project/charity.

  • September: Project/charity for the year is presented.
  • Oct-Nov, Jan-April: Meetings with programs addressing a wide array of educational and entertaining topics.
  • December: Holiday luncheon.
  • May: Luncheon and installation of officers (sometimes held at a local restaurant)
  • Parties (including spouses and guests) are held in the Spring and Fall, typically on Saturday evenings.
